The Madurai district police have embarked on an ambitious project to prevent child marriages through a campaign ,’zero child marriage 2014’,that would create an awareness among students,elected representatives and teachers in this regard….

In order to make 2014,a year free of child marriages, the district police have tired up with a Madurai based company to chart out a plan of action to prevent such incidents from taking place. The primary focus of the district police along with Enteccon, founded by a group of engineering students would be to at least bring down the number of child marriages in the district, if not abolish it completely…..

A special stress buster programme ‘kshatriya Asthra’ was organized in Madurai on Thursday for police inspectors and sub-inspectors of the rural police to prepare them for the hectic schedule during the upcoming festive season.
